Happy 4th of July

Wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July!!

Wanted to share this Patriotic Wreath I made. This was my first attempt at making these cute medallions, as well as a wreath. I have to give credit to Patty Bennett. I was perusing her blog and You Tube videos and found instructions on how to make them. Click here to view the You Tube video. Thank you Patty for the inspiration!

I love how it turned out!!!

I made the medallions out of Bo Bunny Liberty 6x6 paper pad. I placed retired SU star brads and rhinestones in the center. I purchased a wire wreath, star picks and the garland (9ft) at JoAnn's. I wrapped the garland around the wreath and tied the ribbon in place. I used ribbon from my stash. Then I hot glued the medallions around the wreath and tucked the star picks behind them. Viola!!

It was really easy and I can see myself making more for other Holidays.

Thanks for visiting.

California State Fair Entries

So excited to share my California State Fair entries. I wanted to wait until I received noticed that my cards will be on display for the fair. I entered a total of four divisions, only one card was not selected.

Here are the three cards I made and submitted. They are not 100% Stampin' Up! products.

Happy Birthday - 3rd Place

The stamps I used are from Heartfelt Creations. I fell in love with them and had to have them. I bought the flower and pocket stamps at the Scrapbook Expo last year. They also have a matching die for the flowers. Of course, I had to get the die too! I don't know where I got the "denim" paper.  It was in my stash and was perfect for this card. To accent the flowers, I sponged the edges with Soft Suede Ink and spritzed them with Blushing Bride Smooch Spritz. And of course, I had to add rhinestones.

Thinking of You - Award of Merit

I love this card! It makes me feel warm and cozy. I want to sit down in the chair and relax. Don't you love it?! The stamp and greeting are from Hero Arts. The cardstock and DSP are Stampin Up!.
To create the "fabric" on the chair I did the following - stamped the chair in black on the cardstock. Then I stamped the chair in black on the floral patterned DSP. Then I cut out the floral "fabric" and adhered it on to the chair. I love this technique.

Your My Type of Friend - Award of Merit

I love this card too!! I wanted a shabby chic look and lots of embellishments. This card just evolved when I sat down to make it. The cardstock and DSP is Stampin' Up!. The stamp set and greeting are Hero Arts. I sponged the rule lined DSP and the typewriter with Tim Holtz Distress Ink called Antique Linen. I love the bling, pearls, hat pin with tiny flowers.....need I say more?

Apart from my entries on display at the California State Fair, my nieces will have entries on display. Isabelle won first place and third place for two scrapbook divisions. Sophia won first place for two scrapbook divisions. So happy for them!

The California State Fair starts July 21. If you are in the Northern California area, stop by the fair and check out all the great exhibits.

So Grateful For You and A New Family Member

Well, here it is Monday already. Today I was off work for President's Day Holiday, so I spent the day in my crafty room. The craft room had exploded and I had some cleaning and organizing to do. I did not finish it all, but decided to get creative. Here is what I made -

Is'nt this so purdy? Everything came together so easy while making this card. I love it when that happens!! I used the new Framelits Dies Label Collection that SU just came out with. I love these dies!! And they coordinate so easily with the Apothecary Art stamp set. They are so easy to use. I also used the Everyday Enchantment DSP from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. You can earn this for FREE if you place an order for $50 before S&H. Visit my Stampin' Up! Website here to place your order.

Here are the SU supplies I used - Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Vanilla and Calypso Coral CS, Everyday Enchantment DSP and Brads, Fresh Vintage Stamp Set, Apothecary Art Stamp Set, Petal Cone and Beautiful Butterflies Die, Framelits Dies Label Collection, Versamark, Soft Suede Classic Ink, Pearls, Dimensionals.

Here is our new family member Bert. We got him yesterday and is about 6-8 weeks old. He is a sweet parakeet and getting adjusted.

Have a great day!!
